Our Teaching Room

The teaching room is a prepared environment providing an education foundation for successful future development. This room is a well resourced, specifically designed environment set within the centre designed for children over the age of 3 years.

Within this prepared environment we are able to recognise the unique and diverse learning approaches of each child. We are able to provide an educationally, creative and evolving curriculum supported by the following curriculum areas in which each child is able to choose freely from:

A variety of teaching stations are set up around the outside of the room, this is where individual or small groups of children can work on different learning objectives, such as computer skills, literacy skills, numeracy skills, a science topic etc. A desk arrangement in the middle forms a classroom structure, allowing children to have their own personalised desk.

This Teaching Room is a special place for this age group of children, they know their work in here will be valued and respected; it is a place where children are uninterrupted, where their work in progress is left out, reflecting active and ongoing engagement, it is place where celebration occurs, partnerships between the child, their teachers and their parents is enhanced.
