Babies have very specific needs which are quite special; they need to feel loved and secure. They love to visualise and explore the world around them in a safe and loving environment enabling growth and development.

For Infants Aged from 3 Months to 2 Years Old
We have high staff to child ratios which ensure each baby receives full attention and individual care consistently each day.
An inspiring environment which offers a range of safe equipment and activities are provided that allows babies to explore, excite, discover, stimulate and experiment through their sensory play.
Programmes are planned for individual babies, through observations, highlighting children’s strengths and interests and encouraging their learning. These are kept in individual portfolios for you to view at any time.
At meal times, children who are able to sit will do so at a table. A teacher will sit with the children at all times. Karakia will be said before a meal is eaten and emphasis will be placed on learning and using manners at the table.
Children’s sleep routines will adhered to as much as possible. Children will sleep in their designated cots in the sleep room. Sleep and wake times will be recorded on the chart on the sleep room door. Children sleeping in the room will be checked at five minute intervals or less. Teachers will check that each child is covered up, comfortable and that their airway is clear. Bedding will be laundered weekly at the centre.
The Daily Programme will be reviewed by the Nursery teaching team on a 6 monthly basis to ensure that the programme is catering to the needs of this age group of children.
The following core curriculum areas will be set out or on offer throughout each day as part of the daily programme; science & nature, literacy, numeracy, carpentry, music, water play, play dough & clay, messy play, technology, sand & earth, art & collage, pretend play, books & stories, dramatic play, physical & gross motor, construction and multi-cultural.
Profile Books
Every child in our care will have their own Profile Book which is a celebration of who they are and all their accomplishments at the preschool. Please visit our Communication page for full information about our special Profile Books.
Primary Care
Our Nursery is operated by a primary care giving system which means that each teacher has responsibility for a group of children. Primary care giving is an important aspect in working co-operatively with families and enables the child to form a secure bond with one teacher. This teacher is responsible for managing you and your child through the settling process, pre-visits and the ongoing more formal care and education of your child.
Monthly Comments
These will be provided for all individual children and will be collated from February up until November each year. The monthly comments will record and share your child’s progress, interests, abilities and areas of development.
These will be issued to all children under the age of three in November each year.
