20 Hours
The ECE Policy is a government commitment to increased participation in quality early childhood education like ourselves by lowering the cost of early childhood education for parents of 3, 4 & 5 year old children for up to 20 hours per week.
Heathcote Valley Preschool will be offering parents up to 20 hours early childhood education per week for all 3, 4 & 5 year olds.
- All 3, 4 & 5 year olds at our centre are entitled to 20 hours ECE for up to 6 hours a day and 20 hours per week.
- 20 Hours ECE hours cannot be carried over to another week.
- 20 Hours starts when a child turns 3 and ends when a child turns 5.
- If you child does not start school when they turn 5, they can continue to receive 20 Hours ECE.
- Optional charges will apply for additional services; these services are related to the special character of our preschool. They include full cooked meals, morning teas, afternoon teas, hot lunch and all snacks daily, a teaching room specifically for extended development for all children aged over 3 years, our Reggio Programme, specialised equipment, our Brain Gym and Perceptual Motor Programme, as well as excursions.
Getting 20 Hours ECE
To be eligible for 20 Hours ECE you are required to complete the 20 Hours ECE details area on your child’s enrolment form, showing:
- How many hours of 20 Hours ECE your child receives each day of the week at each ECE service they attend.
- The hours of 20 Hours ECE we can claim from MOE.
- That your child does not exceed the maximum hours allowed across all ECE services they attend.
- Where and how many hours of the 20 Hours ECE is received at each ECE service.
- Confirmation of optional charges.
If your child attends the centre for more than 6 hours per day, a fee for any sequential hour will be charged.
